The USA allocated a new military aid package to Ukraine, which included ammunition for artillery systems and armored vehicles, as well as vehicle launched bridges.

The news was published on the official website of the U.S. Department of State.

Authorized by U.S. President Biden, the Department of State ratified the 33rd drawdown of U.S. arms and equipment for Ukraine, valued at $400 million.

This military assistance package includes GMLRS rockets for U.S.-provided HIMARS and ammunition for howitzers, which Ukraine is using effectively to defend itself.

In addition, the package includes ammunition for Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, Armored Vehicle Launched Bridges, demolition munitions and equipment, and other maintenance, training, and support.

Moreover, the new package includes an unspecified number of Armored Vehicle Launched Bridges.

The statement of the U.S. Department of State also noted that the United States continues to rally the world in support of Ukraine.

“We have seen incredible commitment from our allies and partners. We applaud the more than 50 countries who have come together in solidarity with Ukraine to provide support as it defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

The last military aid package

As previously reported, the last U.S. military aid package to Ukraine was announced on February 24.

This happened on the first anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion. The value of the announced aid is $2 billion.

Specifically, the United States is committing additional Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and counter-UAS and electronic warfare detection equipment, as well as critical ammunition stocks for artillery and precision fire capabilities.

The assistance is being provided under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) – therefore, the weapons will be ordered from manufacturers, in contrast to delivering equipment that is drawn down from DoD stocks.
