25 British FV103 Spartan and FV432 armored vehicles arrived in Ukraine.

Armored vehicles were acquired due to the Unite with Ukraine Initiative of the Ukrainian World Congress.

“FV103 Spartan and FV432 crossed the border and went to the units where they are now the most needed,” the volunteers said.

This purchase was initiated by the Congress together with the Territorial Defense Forces Command in October 2022.

“As far as I know, this is the largest simultaneous shipment of armored and tracked evacuation vehicles by an international non-governmental organization since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine,” said Andriy Potichnyj, Unite with Ukraine’s Director.

According to the TDF`s command officer, Oleksander Muzyka, these vehicles are extremely important, since they make it possible to perform not only operational tasks, but also the functions of medical evacuation.

In total, twenty-five armored vehicles were purchased with donations from people and organizations around the world. These are twelve Spartan FV103, seven 432 APCs, two 434 APCs, one Spartan SPA8, one Spartan SPA017 and two Samaritan FV104.

Congress is already planning to purchase 25 more armored vehicles for evacuation.

FV103 Spartan was developed in the 1970s as a version of the armored personnel carrier family of armored fighting vehicles (CVR (T)) of the British Army.

The armored personnel carrier can carry up to seven soldiers, including three crew members. Armed with one machine gun.

The FV432 was developed as an armored personnel carrier based on the FV430 series of vehicles. The FV432 has a steel structure, and the chassis of the armored car has a classic tracked design with an engine at the front and a driver’s seat on the right. Behind the driver’s seat is the commander’s hatch.

In the roof of the landing compartment there is a large hole covered with a double hatch, and in the rear there are doors that are folded aside for landing and exiting the landing.
