The most modern Russian Т-90М “Proryv-3” tank was destroyed by soldiers of the 92nd Mechanized Brigade in the area of the village of Novoselivske, Luhansk region.

It is known that on January 15, during an attack by Russian troops, Ukrainian military forces succeeded in striking one of the Russian tanks using an АТ-4 grenade launcher. Subsequently, the location was determined exactly (49.526104, 37.965793). It is between the villages of Novoselivske and Kuzemivka in the Luhansk region.
The entire battle was recorded on video with the help of the Ukrainian UAV, which supported ground forces during hostilities.
The video captures two Russian Т-90М tanks going on the offensive. The model of tanks can be identified by the characteristic contours of the updated turret, the panoramic sight with a machine gun, and the Nakidka radar-absorbent material (RAM).
The first tank suffered significant damage and was incapacitated.
Saw stopped in the damaged tank and was once again hit with a hand anti-tank grenade launcher. The propellant charges burned out. The tank was completely destroyed.
It’s worth noting, that the crew of the second Т-90М opted to retreat after the losses of their unit. The tank began to reverse, but too slowly.
Low reverse speed is a long-standing problem of Soviet-era tanks and testifies to the critical shortcomings of archaic Т-90М gearboxes, which lead native to the first Т-72 tanks.
It is also important to note that the modern Russian tank was disabled by a light anti-tank grenade launcher. It is quite difficult to break through the front projection of this tank with a conventional RPG due to the low power of infantry weapons.
Russian engineers and designers paid considerable attention to the overlap of vulnerable areas of tank armor with reactive armor elements while developing the Т-90М. Built-in “Relikt” ERA should be guaranteed to protect the tank from hitting HEAT ammunition in front and sides, even at right angles.
Given what was seen on the video, it can be assumed that the HEAT-grenade fell into the chase of the turret, which has a minimum armor thickness and is unprotected by ERA blocks.
(Updated) According to the author of the video, the vehicle received a direct hit in the forehead from a grenade launcher in the area of the triplex of the driver.
