The Armed Forces of Ukraine use unique Ukrainian combat vehicles in battles.
Recently, the Ukrainian-made BTR-4MV1 was spotted on the frontline.
BTR-4MV1 is a modification of the BTR-4 armored vehicle, an eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier designed in Ukraine by the Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau.
It is designed to transport personnel of mechanized detachments and providing fire support in combat. The BTR can be a basic vehicle for equipping special units and marines.
On the basis of the BTR-4, it is possible to manufacture armored vehicles of other types, such as mobile command post, repair and evacuation, sanitary and others.
The armored vehicle has undergone such changes compared to the basic modification: a new shape of the hull in the bow, no bulletproof glass and side doors, entering for the driver and commander is carried out through separate hatches.
The BTR-4MV1 uses a modular approach to construction of armor protection; dispersed armor is actively used . This allows it to quickly replace the elements of the upper layer of armor in the field, so that the protection of the BTR-4MV1 significantly exceeds any sample of APC or IFV, which is currently in service with Ukrainian defenders.
In 2021, this modification from the state-owned enterprise “SpetsTechnoExport” was demonstrated to the Peruvian military.
BMP-1TS
Also on the front line, a Ukrainian modified infantry fighting vehicle BMP-1TS was spotted.
The modification was carried out by the “Scientific and Production Company” Techimpex. ”
The infantry fighting vehicle received a four-fold diesel engine UTD-20. Protection complies with STANAG 4569 – Level 3.
The vehicle is equipped with the Ukrainian combat module “Spys,” which has a 30-mm automatic cannon ЗТМ-1 (2A72), a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun, a 30-mm automatic grenade launcher КBА-117 (AGS-17). Also, the module can use the “Barrier” ATGM.
