With the cost of living skyrocketing, struggling Iranian
pensioners and retired government employees have held protests in more than 16
cities across Iran. Videos posted on social media sites on June 6-7 showed
retirees chanting anti-government slogans and demanding higher pensions.
Hyperinflation and a dramatic rise in food prices have made it harder for
Iranians to make ends meet.
