Heavy weapons supply to Ukraine is critically low – Kuleba

Ukraine is grateful to its partners for providing heavy weapons, but currently its supply volumes are insufficient.

This was stated by the Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, according to European Pravda.

The minister made this statement at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to Dmytro Kuleba, an overstated positive impression of the situation is a big problem.

“Some people think that everything is fine with weapons, but that is not the case. We are grateful for what’s been provided, but it’s not enough to stop Russia. More heavy weapons are needed as quickly as possible,” the Minister explained.

The Minister also stressed that MLRS supplies from the United Kingdom and the United States have not sufficiently changed the situation, but there’s hope for new aid.

“This is a signal that the heavy weapons supply taboo has been lifted, but the number of received heavy weapons is critically small,” Kuleba said.

“There should be no assumptions that the weapons situation has more or less improved. In fact, the changes are rather ‘less tangible’ than ‘more tangible’,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

He also called for preventing further physical destruction of cities in the east of Ukraine carried out by the Russian invaders.

As previously reported, the UK will supply Ukraine with M270 multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) and a sizable amount of M31A1 munitions, which can strike targets up to 80 km with pinpoint accuracy.

The European Union will also partially cover the costs of the KRAB ACS purchase for Ukraine, the Polish Prime Minister said.

In the beginning of June it was announced that Ukraine will sign an agreement to acquire about 60 units of KRAB 155-mm self-propelled gun-howitzers.
