Air defense forces shoot down enemy missiles over Odesa

Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down enemy missiles over Odesa on the morning of Monday, June 20.

The spokesman for the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Bratchuk, reported the news on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Enemy missiles were downed over Odessa and the region, again. Shout out to our air defense," the spokesman wrote.

The Odesa City Council, with reference to Operational Command South, clarified that it was Onyx cruise missiles that were downed.

“The enemy continues to attack Odesa region with Onyx cruise missiles launched by a coastal missile complex located in the temporarily occupied Crimea," the report reads.

He added that in the Black Sea, the enemy has deployed five missile carriers in full combat readiness, also increasing the number of launchers in the western part of the temporarily occupied Crimea.

As Ukrinform reported, over the previous two nights, June 17 and 18, Russia has already attacked the Odesa region with Onyx cruise missiles. All were brought down Ukraine’s air defense.

On June 17, the Ukrainian Navy lined up the Russian tug Vasily Bekh delivering supplies and personnel to the occupied Snake Island.
