Enemy captured 95% of Luhansk region - Haidai

Russian forces have now captured 95% of the territory of the Luhansk region.

Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, said this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"Some 95% of the territory of the Luhansk region is occupied. The situation in Donbas is extremely bad. The Luhansk region continues to restrain the horde, which is destroying our settlements. The shelling does not stop at all," he wrote.

He also added that the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway is being shelled. "Yesterday an enemy subversive group took to the road, there was a shootout, the Russians even managed to set up their checkpoints, but today the road is not blocked, humanitarian aid has been delivered," he said.

According to Haidai, Sievierodonetsk is not encircled, with up to 15,000 people remaining in the town and villages of the community. In total, over 40,000 people stay in the government-controlled area of the Luhansk region and 99% of them do not want to leave.

Due to enemy shelling, there is no gas supply in the Luhansk region, so a bakery in Lysychansk cannot operate. But local authorities made sure there could be bread.

Earlier, Haidai has already refuted fakes that the Russian military allegedly cut off the Luhansk region from Ukraine and blocked the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway.
