A RUSSIAN commander has reportedly killed himself after finding out that 90 per cent of his unit's infamous Z tanks are useless.
Ukraine claimed the commander of the "13th tank regiment" shot himself upon realising the majority of vehicles in his unit were unusable due to parts being stolen.
Kyiv also said that most of the vehicles were almost completely dismantled while some did not even have engines.
Ukraine's Ministry of Defence added that Russian forces were struggling and are facing the "problem of the impossibility of restoring equipment after 'deconservation' from warehouses".
In a statement on Telegram, they said that electronic equipment containing precious metals had also been stripped.
The update read: "Currently, the enemy RVB is trying to 'put into operation' a significant amount of equipment coming from long-term storage facilities.
"The condition of this equipment is mostly extremely unsatisfactory, which makes its full use impossible.
"At present, plans to transfer equipment taken from storage to the front have actually been thwarted."
If confirmed, the commander's death would become the latest in a series of top Russian officers who have been killed in Ukraine.
Last week Western officials said a colonel was run over with a tank by his own troops after huge losses on the battlefield.
Yuri Medvedev of the 37th Motor Rifle Brigade was pictured being stretchered to hospital in Belarus earlier after he was run over in Makariv, near Kyiv.
Even though it was reported that he was expected to survive, the West believes he has died from his injuries.
Earlier two more of Putin's top commanders died in the invasion as the death toll continues to rise.
Major Dmitry Toptun, was reportedly blown up when his armoured vehicle was hit by an anti-tank missile in Izyum, near Kharkiv.

The fighting has taken a toll on Russian forces with humiliated Putin facing defeat in Kyiv after Ukrainian forces have fought hard to reclaim Kherson.

Kherson was the first major city to be captured by Russian troops but Ukrainian forces have launched a heroic retaliation.
The Russian leader had promised his troops a quick victory but over a month after the invasion, that day hasn't come.
Ukraine is now littered with the burnt-out wrecks of Russian tanks and armoured vehicles, charred remains of downed aircraft, and the dead bodies of soldiers - many of whom were teenage conscripts.
Russia's defeat is a significant victory, defence sources say - as it opens a route to the besieged city of Sumy.
Previously a Russian taxi driver reportedly surrendered with a tank in return for £7,500 and Ukrainian citizenship.
Ukrainian forces have reclaimed Trostianets, one of the first towns to fall, in another blow to Putin's war.
